A Troubled Peace By: L.M. Elliot   Before I go into the book, let me preface it by letting you know A Troubled Peace is the sequel to Under a War-Torn Sky. Both are excellent books – published some time ago, and very much worth the read. I read Under a War-Torn Sky at least… Continue reading Book Recommendation: Young Adult

Not the prettiest picture...but it sure is accurate! The key to pursuing my passions these days is *flexibility* (see also: things I’ve never been great at) 🤪 . This morning when Little went down for a nap, I had two choices: if he woke up early, we’d be in perfect timing to go to my favorite mom’s group - and so we’d go because SOCIAL LIFE 🙌🏻 If Little took a nice, long nap, I’d use the time to attend one of the seminars at the #flourishwritersconference 📝 . Little took a two hour nap (!!!! Unicorn status 🦄) so here I am, PJs on, coffee in hand, listening to @havilahcunnington give a great message on being a Storyteller. So much wonderful help this morning! Also 🙌🏻🙌🏻 because Hubby took the night feeding last night, so Happy Valentine’s Day to this girl ❤️❤️ . #meetwritermoms #writermom #calledtobecreative #createdtocreate #creativemamas #creativehappylife #writersofinsta #creativemotherhood #authorslife #authorsofig
This is a double post for some of you, but it was too special to me not to share with my creative community ☺️ . In an effort to include baby boy in my creative pursuits so it’s a ‘we’ thing, not a ‘me’ thing, I wrote him this lullaby and gifted him with a free concert this morning 😉 turns out, the things that set joyful fire ablaze in my heart bring him delight and joy, too 🥰 Enjoy this little 60 second slice of morning and PLEASE excuse my mommy-talk 🤣 . blue eyes, small hands you smile at the ceiling fan and my life will never be the same . rain drops and leaves fall we dance around the living room and I hold you cradled in my arms . and I know, I pray someday you’ll find your own way but for now you are mine to hold sweet baby, you are mine to hold . your hands fit in daddy’s so full of trust and ready to follow wherever he will lead . we pray that you become a man who stands for weaker ones a town of light shining on a hill . and I know, I pray someday you’ll find your own way but for now you are mine to hold sweet baby, you are mine to hold . growing up can wait a day the stars are shining on our faces baby, you are mine to hold sweet baby, you are mine to hold . Mine to Hold, ©️2019 Robyn Field
This book by Jennifer Fulwiler is BRILLIANT for moms who have creative pursuits 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 . In reading it, I’ve been MORE inspired to not only write, but to invite my family into the process... . I had been looking at writing as a ‘me’ thing, when the truth is it’s a ‘we’ thing - part of my FAMILY’S story. And Michael’s talents are a ‘we’ thing, and T’s talents are a ‘we’ thing - all woven together in one tapestry, not three individual spools of thread. 💖🌈✨
Finished this bad boy last week but am only just now getting around to posting this super glamorous selfie to celebrate because #momlife 🤪 . Fellowship was EVEN BETTER than I imagined it would be! Taking a Tolkien break before starting the second one to make them last longer 💖 . Still brainstorming ideas for my next book during little moments of quiet, but for some reason my mind is made up of mashed potatoes these days. Also coffee. Also spit-up. And it’s one of the best things that’s ever happened to me ❤️
“...All together, shoulder to shoulder, we conquer fire with water, water with walls of earth, killing frost with the smoke of many fires, marauding beast with cunning and with guns. And always, against all evil, men will pray. Men will build a wall against it of many prayers, of holy songs, mortared with faith.” - Kate Seredy, “The Chestry Oak” . Can you believe this rich language comes from a children’s book?! One of the most beautiful books I’ve ever read in my life, at that. It’s about a young prince who fights desperately to cling to goodness in the midst of Nazi-occupied Europe. Beautiful and strengthening in a million different ways... . 📷:: Debby Ledet
First literary jewel ✨ Frodo Baggins in “The Fellowship of the Ring” by J.R.R. Tolkien perfectly describes the moment when my son, husband, and I became a family of 3 ✨✨✨
